Supporting Small Businesses

HWF is always looking for new ways to support the working community. We know how difficult it is to start a new business, using any of our resources we've helped people get to where they dreamed of. Read some our their success stories.

Samuel Murima Kinyanyui

Samuel is a father of two and he hails from Gathiga village. He was partnering with a friend in a watch repair business and the friend swindled him and eventually kicked him out of the business at Wangige shopping centre. We assisted him by buying him a watch display cum repair cabinet and he resumed his business in Kikuyu town.

David Kiambuthi

David is a disabled and he was retrenched by his employer due to his disability. He is married with two kids and we assisted him to start pig rearing at his home in Kinoo village. We bought him two pigs.

Lily Waringa Karanja

Lily is a single mother with six kids and her business went down as she struggled to pay for her daughter's school fees. HWF assisted her to start a green grocer business to her support her family with the basic needs. She resides at Gikambura Shauri Yako slums.

Samuel Miingi

He used to do casual jobs in the neighbourhood and the limited income couldn't sustain his needs as well as cater for his ailing mother. We assisted him to start a charcoal selling business which now sustains most of their basic needs.
